while running a new version of winamp I had this error when listening to one of my favored radio stations (kcrw 89.9 Los Angeles):
[sorry, can't disk write shoutcast streams]
to fix this error: change your output settings! Here's how I did it (with the classic skin of winamp 5.x):
- right-click the mysterious right-spot
- from the Winamp Preferences window: Select Plug-ins > Output
- here I changed from the 'Nullsoft MP3 Output Plug-In v1.1 (x86) (out_mp3.dll)' to 'Direct Sound output v....(out_ds.dll)
- load the playlist (item), whatever...should be fixed now
firefox invalid url does I'm Feeling Lucky google search:
After an embarrassing result to an invalid url for a technical term (JSON) and numerous frustrating redirects to sites I have no interest in I took a few moments to figure out what config redirects to the google feeling luck query. To disable this feature in firefox:
- visit about:config
- type 'keyword' in the search field or just find:
- keyword.URL
- I changed the lookup to the loopback address with the invalid url (so I can see what it was). To change the value just double-click 'keyword.URL':
Firefox is now a bit more worksafe and Google cannot collect this information from you without more intentional action on your part.
